Fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch reported that net sales for the 13 weeks ending July 31, 2010, soared 17% to $745.8m (£480.1m). Net income came in at $19.5m (£12.6m) compared with a net loss of $26.7m (£17.2m) for the same period last year.

The retailer will close about 60 domestic stores over the course of its financial year, predominantly at the end of the year. The majority of these closures will be by way of natural lease expiries.
