Outsize menswear retailer High and Mighty is to launch its first franchise store next week, in Reykjavik in Iceland.
Chief executive Judith Levy said the retailer has previously shied away from expanding via franchises. However, the time is now right, with Iceland offering particular opportunities. 'They are big lads up there and there are no competitors,' she said.
Franchisees are also being sought in Scandinavia, Russia and the Middle East. 'It's a case of finding the right partners,' added Levy.
High and Mighty posted pre-tax losses reduced from£204,883 last year to£38,597, on turnover down from£13.4 million to£13 million, for the year ending January 31.
