International News - Dubai to extend shopping areas in huge build

Dubai's retail space is poised to increase fourfold to 20 million sq ft (1.9 million sq m) by 2010, boosted by shopping centre expansion and a raft of new malls.

A big contributor is the Dubailand project, hailed as the biggest shopping mall in the world, which is due to open in 2006. Other projects include the expanded BurJuman Centre, which will open in Spring. And, according to a report in Gulf News, a Majid Al Futtaim development will also boost the country's retail offer.
