Austrian DIY retailer Baumax, which has 120 stores in six European countries, has appointed UK design agency 20/20 to revamp in-store customer communications.
Baumax hopes to increase footfall and fight off competition from German entrants to Austria. Longer term, Baumax hopes to increase footfall by 80 per cent in the 'hard' end of the business, which is Baumax's core market.
The store group will focus on gardening, tools, decoration and 'build', and also hopes to address the softer end of DIY.
A pilot store will be unveiled early next year.
