India, Ukraine and Russia are the most sought-after destinations for international expansion, according to a CB Richard Ellis report.

In a survey of 300 retail companies, which CBRE undertook between November 2007 and February this year, it emerged that 27 per cent of companies either opened a store in India in 2007 or are actively looking there, with Ukraine and Russia following closely behind on 24 and 22 per cent respectively.

Forty per cent of those surveyed believe their main growth in turnover to 2012 will come from emerging markets.

The report, Global Emerging Markets Survey, will be launched at this week’s World Retail Congress.
