Iceland has signed a seven-year IT services deal with Getronics costing more than £11.5m.

The deal is an extension to an existing arrangement between the two companies and will see Getronics provide 24x7 server hosting, systems management, service desk provision, and desk side PC and Blackberry support until 2015.

Iceland says that the contract fits with its existing technical plans, and also includes technical architecture, database support and a managed print service.

Iceland IS director Mark Pearson said: “The new deal has improved our relationship and further integrated the Iceland and Getronics outsourcing model.”

He added: “The changes made to the contract have provided us with stability and security in terms of our IT platform in the current financial climate. Getronics will also provide increased support in areas vital to our business such as an anti-virus service and Blackberry support for our end user community on the move.”
