Depot workers reject pay offer
Festive deliveries to frozen food chain Iceland could be knocked by strikes over pay, according to the Transport and General Workers Union (T&G).

Workers at the retailer's Enfield depot, north London, rejected a 2.4 per cent pay rise and are set for a series of one- and two-day strikes from this Friday.

The depot is run by DHL Exel and employs more than 350 Iceland staff. According to the union, any pay increases by DHL first need to be authorised by the frozen food chain. The walkouts could cripple Christmas deliveries to 180 Iceland stores across the Southeast and East Anglia.

A T&G spokesman said: 'Iceland sponsors I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! on TV, while refusing to share its profits with workers.'
