Production director takes early retirement
David Hutchinson, production director at supermarket chain Morrisons, has announced his decision to step down from the board in 12 months' time.

He is to take early retirement on medical grounds. He will leave the business on June 30, 2007.

Hutchinson is currently responsible for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution.

He joined the company in 1986 and was appointed to the management board in 1993. He moved to the main board of the company in 2002.

The supermarket chain said it was too early to consider a replacement for Hutchinson.
