?2 million invested in three outlets
Up to 50 jobs will be created in Ireland following the continued expansion of independent book retailer Hughes & Hughes.

H&H is investing Eu2 million (£1.4 million) in three new stores, including a 12,000 sq ft (1,115 sq m) flagship store in the Pavillion 2 development at Dun Laoghaire, County Dublin, creating 20 jobs.

Two other 12,500 sq ft (1,160 sq m) stores will open at the new terminal at Cork International Airport in May, creating 20 jobs.

The outlets will take the bookshop's total number of stores in UK and Ireland to 18 in line with its plans to 'expand significantly' over the next few months.

The flagship store will stock about 150,000 titles incorporating a junior section and a specialist children's bookshop that also stocks educational toys and games.

H&H executive chairman Derek Hughes said: 'We are confident that our new outlets in Dun Laoghaire and Cork will be successful.

'We have firm plans in place to open more stores across the country over the next 12 to 24 months.'
