The Christmas rush came late for many retailers last year, and some shoppers really did wait until the last minute to grab the perfect gift.
Shop Direct boss Alex Baldock said the retailer’s last click-and-collect pick-up before the big day was made at 11.59pm on Christmas Eve at a Collect+ petrol station in Heysham, Lancashire.
However, some left it later still and 159 parcels were picked up on Christmas Day itself. Click-and-collect might well have prevented some tears over the sprouts at Christmas.
