Dunkerton claims support for Superdry comeback

Superdry co-founder Julian Dunkerton said he had the support of key City investors in his attempt to win a seat on the board.

He told City AM: “We’ve had a very positive response from the shareholders that we’ve met and have received multiple pledges of support.

“Nobody that we have met during the last few weeks has pledged their support for the management team so far.”

Dunkerton hopes to be elected to the board at an EGM next week.

Wayfair to open first bricks-and-mortar store

Online furniture specialist Wayfair is to open a branch in a shopping mall, becoming the latest etailer to add an offline presence.

Wayfair is to opening the shop at the Natick Mall in Natick, Massachusetts, later this year, CNBC reported.

It has previously tested some pop-up stores.

Wayfair chief executive and co-founder Niraj Shah said the shop would enable Wayfiar to bring its website to life, and demonstrate the “knowledgeable support and expertise of our in-store design team” that cannot be matched online.
