Ted Baker’s profits nosedive during ‘challenging half’

Ted Baker’s profits tumbled during its first half which chair David Bernstein attributed to “very difficult trading conditions”.

The fashion brands profit before tax fell 193.9% to a loss of £23m during the 28 weeks to August 10 down from a £24.5m profit the same period the previous year.

Group revenue dipped 0.7% to £303.8m down from £306m during the comparable period.

Beaverbrooks profits rise for fifth consecutive year

Beaverbrooks ha posted increased sales during its full year results as ts celebrates its 100th anniversary.

The jewellery retailers’ sales increased 2.9% to £127.4m during the year to March 2.

The specialist retailer posted an operating profit of £12.4m however this was down from the previous years £13.6m which it said was as a result of “subsidiary results, significant investment in our people’s salaries, training, and new stock lines.”
