7:09am Amazon to open dozens of supermarkets across US
Amazon is set to open dozens fo grocery stores across the US in major cities including San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Washington DC and Philadelphia.
The stores are not intended to compete directly with Whole Foods, which Amazon acquired for $13.7bn in 2017, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The first site is due to open in LA as early as the end of the year with two other openings planned for early next year.
