French Connection extends sale deadline

French Connection has extended the deadline of its “formal sale process” until the time of its interim results on September 17.

The fashion retailer announced in October last year it was in discussions with “several interested parties” regarding the sale of the business but said there ”can be no certainty that an offer will be made for the company”.

John Lewis to outsource hundreds of maintenance roles

Maintenance staff at the department store chain risk losing thousands of pounds a year through the loss of bonuses after it was announced they would be outsourced to US owned real estate company CBRE.

Trade union GMB has pledged its support to the 400 staff across the country who are impacted, either by taking reduced or by having their roles outsourced to CBRE.

GMB Regional Organiser in Berkshire Nikki Dancey said: “CBRE are currently refusing to honour the defined benefit pension scheme, the store discounts, bonuses and other employee benefits that workers have received from John Lewis.”

Superdry postpones results after boardroom exodus

Superdry has announced it will delay posting its full year results following the “recent management transition”.

The fashion brand was expected to update the market for the 52 weeks to April 27 on July 4 but will now post its results on July 10.

In a pre-close statement posted on May 9 Superdry announced it would be making a “non-cash onerous lease and store impairment provision” in its full year results which will benefit the underlying profit before tax in this financial year.
