Moss Bros has added two key non-executive directors to its board. Debbie Hewitt’s tenure with the suits retailer began today, while Simon Berwin joined on May 29.

Hewitt was previously an executive at Marks & Spencer and was managing director of the RAC. Berwin runs Berwin & Berwin, one of the largest clothing manufacturing businesses in the UK.

Moss Bros non-executive chairman David Adams described their appointments as having “completed the team to take the business forward”.

He said that Berwin’s manufacturing expertise would help the company with its sourcing and supply operations while Hewitt would bring “experience and skills across a broad spectrum of businesses”.

On Friday last week Adams and chief executive Brian Brick each bought 50,000 shares in Moss Bros, which represents 0.05 per cent each of the issued ordinary share capital of the company.
