Catalogue store group Argos has launched its TV shopping service, adding another platform to its multichannel offer.

Argos TV, showing on Sky channel 642 and online, will broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week and highlight more than 1,000 products a week including Argos own-range goods as well as branded product. The hosting by Sky makes Argos’s channel available in 10m homes.

Argos business development director Adrian Burleton said customers’ ability to immediately collect products showcased on TV from stores would be a key distinction from rival TV shopping firms.

“The Argos TV channel sees us really delivering on our commitment to offer our customers whole range of convenient ways to shop with us,” said Burleton.

The TV home shopping market is estimated by research house verdict to be worth £750m a year.
