Former Beijing Hualian boss to run China arm
The world's largest DIY retailer Home Depot has appointed Yves Chen as president of its retail operations in China.

Chen will report directly to Home Depot Asia and Canada president Annette Verschuren. His most recent position was executive president of leading Chinese retailer Beijing Hualian Group. Before that, he held a variety of executive positions in China and France with French retailers Carrefour and Promodes.

Chen will be responsible for the operating and financial performance of Home Depot's retail operations in China. He will integrate the newly acquired Home Way stores into Home Depot and lead the growth of the Chinese retail business.

Verschuren said: 'We are excited about the expertise that Yves Chen will bring to our retail operation. As a local Chinese business leader, Yves will bring invaluable insight to our operations and growth strategy. The combination of Yves and the existing Home Way leadership is a powerful team dedicated to serving the unique needs of Chinese consumers.'

Home Depot revealed its acquisition of Home Way on December 13 last year. Following the deal, the company employs about 3,000 people in 12 stores across six cities in China.
