Home Depot has agreed to settle a discrimination case involving some of its staff for US$5.5 million (£3 million).
The DIY giant was accused by Colorado workers of gender and racial discrimination.
According to the Equal Opportunity Commission, which announced the settlement last week, the employees involved accused Home Depot of 'fostering a hostile workplace'.
More specific allegations against Home Depot have not been released.
It has not accepted liability, but said it had decided to settle the case to avoid lengthy litigation proceedings.
Pending a judge's approval, the settlement would result in US$3 million (£1.7 million) in payouts to 38 named individuals. The remaining cash would be placed in a fund for other staff affected by the action.
