Value retailer Home Bargains has launched a £25m expansion programme under which it will open in Northern Ireland for the first time.

Privately-owned Home Bargains has 190 shops at present and intends to open between 20 and 25 in the province over the next three to five years.

Operations director Joe Morris said he was keen to hear about suitable premises and that the opening programme would boost local economies and employment.

“Not only will our new stores benefit communities, they will also offer local residents the most popular household brands at exceptional prices,” he said.

Liverpool-based Home Bargains is owned by family firm TJ Morris and sells lines such as confectionery, health and beauty products and household goods.
