Sofa Workshop draws on cartoons for new brand.ID

Sofa Workshop has revealed a new visual identity at its store at Wilmslow, Cheshire.

Conceived by design consultancy The Nest, which was responsible for the interior of WHSmith’s Guildford store, the new image is intended to ‘have immediate stand-out in what is now a crowded market’, said The Nest art director James Skinner.

He added: ‘We used a clean typographic style, supported by light-hearted illustrations by Jeff Fisher.’

The reworked identity, which features in the Wilmslow outlet’s in-store PoS material and a brochure, will be rolled out to the other 28 Sofa Workshop stores across the country later in the year.

At the same time, The Nest has been appointed to work on store communications and environments for London-based lighting and electricals retailer Ryness.

Earlier this year, Ryness said its 11 stores would be revamped during 2004.
