When analysts were given Screwfix-branded beer on a trip to the Kingfisher-owned trade business’s Stoke headquarters last week, some began to wonder whether the DIY group was again expanding its product offer.

Screwfix beer

After all, many moons ago Kingfisher sold anything from pic ’n’ mix to shampoo when it operated retailers including Woolworths and Superdrug. But alas, consumers won’t be able to get their hands on it.

The bottles - stamped with the No Nonsense Screwfix own-brand logo – were developed for an internal conference.

Considering the label contains helpful warnings to drinkers that “excessive consumption may result in…over confidence, unwanted children and the purchase of a dodgy kebab”, it’s probably for the best.
