Coronavirus: Homebase trials 20 store reopenings

Homebase has reopened 20 of its bricks-and-mortar stores on a trial basis, one month after closing its entire estate due to the coronavirus pandemic.

While technically classed as an essential retailer by the government, Homebase made the initial decision to close all stores on March 25 and focus on its online operations.

The retailer has now decided to trial reopening 20 stores with social distancing and other safety measures in place. Homebase did not say how long the trial will last.
