Arts and craft retailer HobbyCraft has appointed Lisa Looker as head of marketing.

Looker joins from Jones Bootmaker, where she held the same position, and replaces Gill Thomas.

Previously Looker was a director at 'queen of shops' Mary Portas's communications agency Yellowdoor.

HobbyCraft chief executive Chris Crombie said: “Last year was another successful year for HobbyCraft, despite the difficult economic climate, and we have exciting plans in place for the coming 12 months. Lisa’s excellent retail experience will prove invaluable.”

Looker said: “I am very pleased to be joining such a successful and growing business and look forward to some exciting plans ahead, including the launch of HobbyCraft’s superstore in Edinburgh in April.”

HobbyCraft has 38 stores.
