New stores have outperformed forecasts
Women's clothes and footwear retailer Hobbs has revealed sales increases of 31 per cent, for the three months to April 29.

New stores, which opened during the quarter in Liverpool and Solihull, have been trading well, exceeding forecasts by 25 per cent. Hobbs has 98 stores across the UK, with four further stores and 10 concessions planned for this year.

The fashion retailer said its spring/summer collections were performing 'extremely well'.

Chief executive Nick Samuel said: 'Hobbs continues to go from strength to strength. The first quarter of 2006 has seen outstanding performance and we have every confidence that this will continue.'

Profits for this financial year are forecast at£19 million.

The group will announce its results for the year to this January on May 24.
