Culinary retailer Hob has taken its third UK store and its second outside London as part of a raft of signings to Clarence Dock in Leeds.

Hob’s first UK shop was in central London’s Brunswick Centre. It opened in December 2006, selling upmarket cooking utensils, recipe books and ingredients.

The new store will occupy a 2,700 sq ft (250 sq m) unit in the£260 million mixed-use Clarence Dock centre, sitting alongside Pizza Express and Starbucks.
Hob is owned by lifestyle retailer Joy, which is also taking a 2,800 sq ft (260 sq m) store in the centre.

Clarence Dock owner Crosby Lend Lease has added seven names to the line-up ahead of the retail phase’s opening on October 10.

The other retailers to sign are fashion players Replay, Aspecto, Daniel Footwear, Moda in Pelle and Emma.

The scheme has had a series of staggered openings since the beginning of the year, including the launch of a Tesco Express store and Starbucks.

Also part of the development is 1,100 apartments and 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sq m) of office space.

Clarence Dock Company commercial lettings director Simon Kid said: “We have got a meticulously maintained environment here that combines an expanse of contemporary public realm and waterspace with dramatic frontages and flexible internal spaces to all units.”
