Superdrug has today launched an online doctor service, enabling customers to order prescriptions and home test kits without having to visit their GP.

The health and beauty retailer has partnered with Health Bridge to launch the service in which qualified doctors offer consultations and offer advice through the website.

Superdrug is in the process of ramping up its healthcare services as it aims to become more of a specialist in the field,

Superdrug healthcare director Steve Gray said: “Our online doctor service is a really convenient alternative for those whose busy lives don’t allow them to spend time visiting their GP.

“It’s also true that for some conditions the privacy and confidentiality offered by our online service will help customers receive medical expertise in the comfort of their own home, sparing any blushes.”

Service fees will start at £30 for impotence tablets, various contraceptives, asthma inhalers, acne treatments, hair loss treatments and high cholesterol tablets, which is dependent on dosage and number of pills.

Superdrug has been revamping its pharmacy divisions and has also installed nursing clinics across 19 stores.
