Sephora UK’s long-awaited website launch has been plagued by technical difficulties, blurry images and low stock, according to disgruntled shoppers.  

The retailer, which confirmed its re-entry to the UK earlier this month, went live on what was formerly Feelunique.com on Monday but has since come under fire from disappointed customers running into issues while trying to shop. 

Although Sephora has launched on an already established ecommerce site, users have been served error codes, dead links, glitches and incorrectly loaded pages displaying products along only one side of the site. 

Elsewhere, misaligned graphics, “copy TBC” notes and missing or pixelated imagery appear, which one shopper described as making it look like an untrustworthy site that “doesn’t even protect your card transactions”. 

Shoppers also complained that despite promising a “fully immersive” website that would act as an “inspiring gateway” to its products, it is too similar to the original Feelunique site.

Availability has also been an issue, with as much as 60% of shades on some lines now out of stock. On one of its hotly anticipated brand exclusives, Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint, 17 of the 30 shades on offer were unavailable at the time of publication. Another exclusive, Makeup by Mario Skin Enhancer, and Soft Pop Blush are unavailable in at least half of the shades.
