Frasers has pulled out of the deal for struggling cosmetics brand Revolution Beauty.
The Mike Ashley-owned retail giant announced in a note to the City this morning that it was pulling out of the running for Revolution Beauty, and had no intention of making a bid to buy the company.
Today’s announcement will come as a blow to the beauty retailer, which was formally placed up for sale on May 21, 2025.
Revolution Beauty had received a preliminary takeover approach from an unnamed company, which it said solidified into proposls from “several interested parties”.
Frasers’ name was consistently linked with a potential bid in the press, and Revolution Beauty confirmed its interest officially on June 9, although it did warn that “there can be no certainty that Frasers’ interest will result in a firm offer for the company,”
The brand is stocked in major retailers including Superdrug, Boots, Asos and Debenhams in the UK. International stockists include Walmart in the US and DM in Germany.
Debenhams Group holds a large minority stake in the brand.
The retailer has also endured a torrid year in terms of personnel. In April, then chief executive Lauren Brindley announced she would be standing down from her role and as a board member on May 31, 2025 to pursue a new role of chief merchandising and digital officer at rival beauty specialist Ulta Beauty.
