Penny Grivea, managing director for UK and Ireland at Rituals

Penny Grivea will leave Rituals on November 30, 2023

She will be stepping down as managing director for UK and Ireland, as revealed by an internal company-wide email seen by Retail Week.

Grivea joined Rituals in her present role in 2015 and has since led the brand’s rapid expansion into bricks and mortar.

She has previously led growth within the luxury sector with roles at Harrods, Selfridges, skincare brand Korres, fashion accessory brand Folli Follie and fine jeweller Georg Jensen.

Grivea will continue at Rituals until November 30 and be replaced by Annemarie Forsyth, starting November 6.

Forsyth has previously held commercial and managing director roles across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Russia for brands including Inditex and Victoria’s Secret.

Grivea said in the email: “I have been working with this fabulous brand for nine years now and the time has come for me to hand over to a new leader.

“It has been a fascinating journey with many ups and downs – mostly ups. I started with nine stores and a very challenging business. We will have 80 by the end of the year and a portfolio of great partners that have helped us widen our distribution and increase our brand awareness.

“I couldn’t be prouder of our joint efforts and achievements, for which I am very grateful to you and your teams.”
