Boots has been granted a royal warrant by the Queen, in recognition of its services as manufacturers and retailers of health and beauty products to the royal household.
It is the third time the high street retailer has received this recognition, following its first warrant from Queen Elizabeth II in 1955 as suppliers of sap. It was then extended in 1958 to include agricultural and horticultural goods.
The royal warrant is granted to companies that have supplied the royal household regularly for at least five years.
The team said it is a “significant honour”, and Boots managing director Anthony Hemmerdinger said: “We are incredibly proud to have been granted a Royal Warrant by Her Majesty The Queen. As a British brand that has been part of communities across the UK for generations, holding a Royal Warrant will always be very special for Boots.
“It reflects the trust people place in us every day and our long-standing commitment to providing great products and services for all.”
Boots has also worked with The Queen since 2017 in support of people who have experienced sexual harm. With charity Kind Direct, Boots said it has provided almost “80,000 wash bags filled with toiletries for survivors to use after a forensic examination as a small gesture of comfort during a difficult time.”
