Deal worth £10m a year
Furniture retailer Harveys is to sponsor ITV's Coronation Street as part of a deal worth£10 million a year.

The retailer will take over from Cadbury Schweppes, which has sponsored the soap opera for 10 years.

The ads from Harveys, which is owned by South African manufacturing group Steinhoff following a£326.4 million takeover bid in January, will hit the screens in October.

Steinhoff UK chief executive Ian Topping said: 'This is the most prestigious sponsorship deal within British TV. It's a perfect brand fit for Harveys.'
