Habitat boosts back office with demand planner

Stock management systems have been given a makeover at Habitat, with the aim of providing more accurate and time-sensitive order and stock information.

Sterling Commerce helped Habit to integrate its TXT Demand Planner stock management system to its existing SAP back-office systems.

The company hopes that greater visibility of its supply chain should ensure that stock replenishment is carried out efficiently at all of its 72 stores in the UK, France and Germany. In particular, this will allow the retailer to forecast seasonal and geographical requirements more accurately.

Habitat IT director Yves Gauguier said: 'They (Sterling Commerce's integration products) are easy to use and present a speedy mechanism for developing new interfaces into our SAP system as our business requirements grow in the future.'
