Fashion retailer's sales increase 11 per cent, while its store count continues to rise

Sales jumped 11 per cent at H&M in August, against the same month last year.

By August 30, the fashion group’s store count had increased by 168 to 1,432 compared with last year. H&M operates in 24 countries and employs more than 60,000 staff. Turnover in 2006 was Skr80.08 billion (£5.85 billion).

In March, H&M launched its first upmarket Cos-branded store on London's Regent Street and a further six stores have opened in capital cities worldwide since then. A total of 10 Cos stores will open by the end of the year.
