UK not sufficiently prepared for shocks to food supplies
The National Audit Office has urged the government to act as climate crisis, disease and cyberattacks pose growing risk to nation’s food security.
The NAO is urging the Department for Food, the Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra) to work more closely with households, communities and businesses to ensure the UK’s food security system can withstand supply chain shocks that are becoming both increasingly common and severe.
