Tesco store managers face job shake-up as part of stores restructuring

Tesco bicster

Tesco has put thousands of store-manager roles into consultation as it launches a major shake-up of its larger stores.

The UK’s largest supermarket is making changes to the way it staffs its larger superstores and Extra stores, and will scrap thousands of management roles in the process, according to The Grocer.

Affected departments include checkout, fresh food and F&F with department managers set to be replaced with team or lead manager positions.

Tesco insisted there would be no redundancies as a result of the shake-up and said the new roles would give staff more responsibility for different parts of the store.
