Sainsbury’s has poached Screwfix customer and digital director Rhian Bartlett, four years after she left the grocer.

Bartlett has taken on the role of director of fresh food and will report into commercial director Paul Mills-Hicks.

She previously worked at Sainsbury’s between 2008 and 2015, initially as head of online merchandising.

Bartlett went on to serve as category manager across a number of product divisions including produce, home, toys, seasonal and baby and beauty, before being named as business unit director for grocery non-food in 2014.

Following her departure from the supermarket giant, Bartlett spent almost three years at eBay as senior director of UK trading. She joined Screwfix as commercial director in September 2017 and was promoted to customer and digital director in February 2019.

Bartlett said: “I am pleased to be returning to Sainsbury’s. It is a fantastic company with talented colleagues and a clear purpose to help customers live well for less. I am really looking forward to working with the teams to deliver a fantastic Christmas for our customers.”

Mills-Hicks added: “We are delighted to be welcoming Rhian back to Sainsbury’s. She has extensive experience and will be a key member of the commercial leadership team as we further enhance our food business and focus on offering customers quality products at affordable prices.”
