From today, shops around the country will feature the famous green Shrek ‘S’ to mark the final instalment of the ogre’s story. The film is on sale at £8 for a week, when it then goes to £13.99.

Luke Jensen, Sainsbury’s non-food managing director said:  “Changing our logo was not without hurdles but we’re delighted to mark Shrek’s arrival by trying something green today, and for the rest of the week!”

Sainsbury’s has also recreated parts of the film in store, with staff dressing up as their favourite characters, face painting and swamp areas.

The logo will be changed for a week at stores in Calcot, Hayes, Milton Keynes, Newport, Crayford, Hedge End and London Colney.
