Ocado is to start selling dinner kits complete with exact ingredients and recipes cards as it looks to offer customers more convenience.

The online supermarket has partnered with recipe kit service Gousto to offer boxes with recipes for three different meals, which customers will be able to create from scratch in around 30 minutes.

Customers will be able to choose from recipes such as fennel crusted pork loin with Italian-style butter beans, chorizo and bean frittata and crunchy chicken cashew stir-fry with basmati rice. The boxes are priced at £42 for a box for two and a family box, serving four to six people, for £67.

The kits will be delivered to the customers in one-hour slots of their choice.

Jason Gissing, co-founder of Ocado, said: “We founded Ocado to make our customers lives easier so being the first supermarket to add dinner kits to our range is a natural move. They offer the next step in convenience and managing the family’s meals without compromising on the highest quality and nutrition.”
