The world’s largest coffee and food-to-go chain, Starbucks, has opened its first-ever Reserve flagship in Spain at football giant Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
Spread across two storeys, the 10,000 sq ft site is the first time Starbucks has opened a store in a football stadium and is the first of its Reserve fascias in Spain.
Operated by franchisee Alsea, the new store features a concierge barista station, a bar and mixology area, and tasting rooms that feature panoramic views for customers of the stadium and the pitch.
Starbucks International chief executive Brady Brewer said: “This new flagship location at the Bernabéu is not just a coffeehouse, it’s a global destination. It’s a tribute to our roots, a reflection of Madrid’s creative energy and a symbol of the community connections we aim to build.”
Inma Rodriguez Torres, design manager at Starbucks EMEA, said: “The design of the Bernabéu store was born from our deep-rooted passion for coffee and the vibrant soul of Madrid.
“The concept embraces the tension between heritage and innovation – honouring the raw, expressive character of the stadium’s internal architecture while introducing a refined, contemporary experience. It’s a space designed to stir emotion, spark connection, and echo the energy of the city itself”
