Mid-Counties Co-op has sold 41 of its News Express shops around the region to locally based operation Dave’s Discount Stores.

The stores, which formerly traded as Stars, will continue to be run by the purchaser as a going concern.

Dudley-based Dave’s operates wine shops, post offices and convenience stores around the UK. It is owner is the former First Quench brand names Thresher, Victoria Wine, The Local and Bottoms Up.
