Websites and mobile apps for M&S and Asda have returned to service after experiencing problems caused by a global Microsoft outage.
The two retailers were among several companies that reported issues with their sites on Wednesday evening, the BBC reported.
Microsoft said some business Microsoft 365 customers had experienced problems and its Azure cloud computing platform had reported a “degradation of some services” at 4pm on Wednesday.
It said this was caused by ‘DNS issues’, which were the root issue of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage last week.
Customers trying to access the Marks & Spencer website and app were met with a “we are currently experiencing some technical difficulties” message.
