Following in the footsteps of the likes of Morrisons and Marks & Spencer, Holland & Barrett and Booths have both joined forces with Deliveroo to bolster their customer reach during lockdown.

Health goods retailer Holland & Barrett will offer 200 of its most popular products – including CBD oil, manuka honey and baking ingredients – for purchase via Deliveroo.

The service will be available from 50 of its stores across the country, to be delivered in 30 minutes or less.

Holland & Barrett hopes the partnership will help give customers better access to health foods and supplements, which could be particularly helpful for those self-isolating amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Holland & Barrett chief executive Tony Buffin said: “These unprecedented times have seen more customers than ever before shop with us for their health products online.

“Deliveroo is an exciting new partnership for us – one that will make it even quicker and easier for customers to get some of our top-selling lines during the lockdown.

“Delivery from stores will offer customers more choice and a speedy delivery service that has a lower impact on the environment.”

Family-run grocer Booths has also joined the delivery service. It will initially offer 300 products from its Salford Media City store only – including meat, fruit, vegetables and store cupboard essentials – which can be delivered in under 30 minutes.

From June 23, customers will also be able to order hot lunch and dinner items from the store via the Deliveroo app, including pizzas, jacket potatoes, curries, pies and burgers.

The grocer plans to roll out the service to five other stores, reaching up to 400,000 households across Lancashire and Greater Manchester.

Booths head of business to business Abby Talbot said: “Booths are very excited about our link up with Deliveroo, which will bring a wider delivery reach for over 300 products for customers.

“Delivery with Deliveroo will start at our Media City stores, with Fulwood, Penwortham, St Anne’s, Hale Barns and Lytham starting deliveries in early July.

“This service will offer quick and convenient delivery with Deliveroo and will help our customers unable to shop at Booths to access our great range of groceries.”
