Celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal has developed a range of food for Waitrose customers allowing them to try some of his more eccentric offerings.

Blumenthal, who made his name with recipes such as snail porridge and egg and bacon ice-cream, has been working with the grocery chain this year as a food ambassador along with Delia Smith.

The new range of 20 products will be available from October and include vanilla mayonnaise and a Japanese Ponzu Dressing.

‘Heston from Waitrose’ will launch as part of an extended premium offer of Waitrose own-label products that will also go into stores in October.

Blumenthal said: “It has been an exciting new opportunity working with Waitrose on this extensive range of products.  We have had an enormous amount of fun developing the different products in the range and hope that it will offer a little something for everyone to taste and enjoy.”

Waitrose director of marketing Rupert Thomas said: “This partnership is a perfect recipe for our customers, offering inspiration and innovation with some really special products.  This brand is a natural progression of our relationship and we know that our customers will love to cook with Heston’s range”.
