The off-licence brands Threshers, Victoria Wine, Bottoms Up and The Local have been bought by property investment and consultancy firm SEP Properties.

The firm, which bought 23 shops from the collapsed group in October, plans to resurrect the brands.

SEP director Engrez Sanghera told The Guardian: “We’re looking to expand the Threshers business online, and rebrand all the retail businesses as Bottoms Up.”

It said it will focus on wine and champagne sales, and also plans to franchise the Bottoms Up retail brand.

KPMG has also sold a further 8 shops out of the 1,200 stores to Spar. The Wine Rack brand had been sold to Venus Wine and Spirit Merchants last year.

Property company Christies is still trying to sell the leases of the remaining stores.
