Billionaire denies interest in chain
Topshop billionaire-owner Sir Philip Green has denied any interest in department store group Debenhams.

Shares in Debenhams soared 3.5 per cent earlier today on market speculation that Green, the Icelandic investment group Baugur and a private equity firm were all interested in buying the 174-store group.

However, Green has refuted talk surrounding a possible deal. He said in reports: 'I've heard the rumours today. Debenhams is of no interest to us whatsoever. We've not looked at it and we've got no intention of looking at it. We've got our work cut out on what we've already got. Debenhams is not on our radar at all.'
