Proposition could mean a return to its glorious past for legacy retailer
Philip Green is understood to be planning a chain of Bhs stores devoted solely to homewares. The billionaire retail entrepreneur will use the 10 Allders stores acquired yesterday as the locations for this new format. The retailer is expected to have the shops rebranded by the end of May.

Green was one of a trio of retailers that snapped up Allders sites yesterday. Debenhams hopes to have the eight stores it acquired ready in two to three months. Associated British Foods, which bought six outlets, including stores at Bromley, Coventry and Oxford, is expected to spend£110 million on the acquisitions, including refitting.
