Retail legends Sir Philip Green and Mickey Drexler will take to the stage together at this year’s World Retail Congress to reveal their insights into retail leadership.

The retail entrepreneurs will share the podium for the first time to discuss the future of retail and their thoughts on what will determine the winners and losers in a challenging sector.

The billionaire Arcadia chief, Green, and Drexler, who is J Crew chairman and chief executive, will be interviewed live by Wall Street Journal London bureau chief Emily Nelson on the first day of the event, which is taking place in Barcelona from April 9 to 11.

Four out of the five top retailers in the world –Wal-Mart, Carrefour, Tesco and Metro – will speak at the Congress.

More than 100 retailers will discuss issues including sustainability, driving growth in international markets and the global customer revolution.

Congress director Ian McGarrigle said hearing Green and Drexler on stage together will be an “unmissable” event. “Their combined insight into today’s retail market will form an invaluable part of the World Retail Congress programme,” he said.
