Outdoor specialist retailer Go Outdoors is to open its first two superstores since securing an £18 million investment from Bank of Scotland Corporate in April.

The Sheffield-based retailer will open a 40,000 sq ft store in Wolverhampton later this month followed by a 43,000 sq ft shop in Bristol in October.

The Bristol store will house a 6m-high indoor climbing frame and jogging machines to help customers choose training footwear. It will be the retailer’s 11th opening and its first themed store with an “outdoors, inside” design, with features such as lime stone walls and synthetic turf flooring.
