Saville Row men’s tailoring business Gieves & Hawkes has named former chief executive Mark Henderson as non-executive chairman of the business.

Henderson, who is currently the deputy chairman of Gieves & Hawkes and was chief executive until 2009, is credited with expanding the business to over 100 stores and concessions internationally during his 12 years at the helm. The Savile row suit-maker was acquired by Hong Kong-based retailer Trinity Group earlier this year.

Trinity Group managing director Wong Yat Ming said: “We expect Mark to play an important role in our plans to expand Gieves & Hawkes’ business over the next few years, both in the UK and internationally.”

Henderson added: “I am honoured to have been appointed to chair such an iconic British luxury goods brand. Trinity is the ideal owner for Gieves & Hawkes and I think the next chapter in the firm’s long and illustrious history will be an exciting one.”

Gieves & Hawkes has 103 stores in Greater China, 13 retail points in the UK, one in Ireland, and an ecommerce site.
