German fashion and lifestyle retailer Gerry Weber is to open its first standalone store outside London and only its second in the UK at Grosvenor’s Grand Arcade development in Cambridge.

Gerry Weber will take a 3,100 sq ft (285 sq m) store at the scheme, which is opening on March 27.

Grosvenor, which owns the 450,000 sq ft (41,805 sq m) centre, has also signed All Saints and TM Lewin for their debut stores in Cambridge. They will join other retailers on board including Coast, G-Star, Jane Norman, Hugo Boss, River Island and Ted Baker. John Lewis will anchor the centre with a 255,000 sq ft (23,670 sq m) department store.

Grosvenor head of retail leasing Neil Barber said: “There is a massive pent-up demand for quality space in Cambridge’s retail market.

“In addition to the deals just signed, we have a significant number in solicitors’ hands and will be announcing many more over the coming weeks.”
The centre’s opening will be promoted by a campaign featuring 100 ft high images of fashion models projected on the side of some of Cambridge’s historic buildings.
